Under the Advanced tab, under the General “sub-tab”, select the local folder where you have copied the music from your iPod (by clicking Change…). Check This Out It lets me choose the folder, which it is saying is EMPTY when it's NOT, I click "OK" and NOTHING. I don't want to take that chance. In Windows Explorer, a folder will now appear with the name of your iPod. I also updated itunes and let itune restore to factory settings - I have no songs in itunes (new computer running vista) and I now have no songs on my ipod I am off now to find instrucions on how to restore my ipod to factory settings.
